Wanda Rutkiewicz - Wanda Luchevitz
Surprisingly, she became the first Poles to climb Mount Everest (1978), which earned her a reputation in the mountaineering community and became a household name in the country.
Wanda was destined to be a 14-hunger 8000-meter hunter, no matter what kind of harm it would bring.
In 1981, she ignored his wounded leg and ran to K2 on a crutch. Until she was in the base camp of Brolot, as a reserve of Jezry Kukuczka and Voytek Kurtykad, she found herself walking so far that she could not climb the mountain for a year.
In 1992 she went to Zhangjiajie, Gancheng, although the doctor warned her that the lungs and kidneys were seriously deformed. She was finally seen at 8,200 meters in the dry city of Zhangjiabu, where she was sleeping in preparation for a single person.

Wanda was determinate to bag all 14 mountains above 8,000 metres - no matter what, this but led to difficult personal damage. In 1981, despite a broken leg, she set out for K2 on crutches. Only when she reached the Broad Peak base camp on The backs of Jezry Kukuczka and Voytek Kurtyka did she realise she had come too far. That costed a whole year of no climbing.
In 1992 she left to climb Kangchenjunga, though the doctors had warned her, both her liver and kidneys were in very bad shape. She was last seen on Kanchenjunga at an altitude of 8,200 metres, bivouacking in preparation for a solo summit bid the following day .
