Ten years ago, the reproduction of color was only a routine, repetitive process that could only be performed by more skilled professionals. Today, the development of electronic publishing technology has enabled professionals at all levels to directly manipulate digital colors - from image designers, prepress technicians, to printer operators. These advances in technology allow color evaluations to be performed at various stages of the production process, but at the same time expose the need for high-quality manuscripts, proofs, and prints that simulate the final color of ink on paper at different stages of production. .
Imation, a pioneer in color proofing and color management solutions, recently announced a system that helps provide the printing industry with high-quality originals, proofs, and prints. The system, named Imation Match printTM Professional Server, is a color raster image processing (RIP) process that automatically processes and manages color digital files and transmits them over a network to color presses or copiers.
The Imation Match printTM professional server is used in conjunction with a powerful high-quality digital printing device, the Xerox DocuColor 12. The total solution utilizes a special Imation/Xerox co-produced media, so that the final user can be sure to receive accurate, predictable, industry-standard Matchprint colors quickly and at a low price. The quality and speed of the output from the integrated printing system (12.5 pages per minute) make it a compelling solution for web proofing and short live digital printing.
The color reproduction process has changed. Content creators and pattern designers have taken greater control and highly used colors. Imation is ready to provide professionals with intelligent, abstract network color solutions that can help management provide advanced color management, but also provide higher production capacity - this is in line with Match print's brand image solution.
Imation did not forget the commercial effect of the production process. Two years ago, Imation commercialized Imation Match print's Digital Halftone Proofing System. This system has the same consistency, reliability, and predictability as the Match print simulation proofing system. And it can be used within the digital flow. Imation also recently announced the availability of an additional custom color software for the digital half-tone proofing system - an all-digital color application that allows the printing professional to generate fifth and sixth colors using CMYK values.
For specialized commercial printers, these products have the ability to directly match a variety of colors, and to ensure that the colors are truly reproducible, which means ultimately increasing customer satisfaction and productivity.
For Imation, the transition to digital process flow means providing reliable, relevant, consistent, and accurate color correction to meet the needs of ever-changing printing processes, prepress, and printing technicians. Imation stated that technology is constantly changing, but our commitment will not change.
